Public Meeting Planned for Eslava Creek Wet Weather Attenuation Tanks Project

MOBILE, Ala. (May 9, 2023) - MAWSS is hosting a community meeting to provide information about an upcoming sewer project. The Norton Lane Pumping Station and SWATs (Severe weather attenuation tanks) project will allow sewage diversion from the gravity sewer system to covered storage tanks during wet weather events. It will be held in the SWATs until the weather event ends and the sewage can re-enter the sewer system without causing adverse effects. The pumping station will pump 63 million gallons daily to two 12 million-gallon covered tanks.

The public meeting is Wednesday, May 17, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the MAWSS home office board room, 4725 Moffett Road, 36618. Please enter through customer service.
