2018 MAWSS "Fun with Water" Watercolor Contest Winners

The winners of the 12th Annual MAWSS "Fun with Water" Watercolor Contest have been selected from more than 150 entries submitted by area students in grades K-12. This year's winners are:

Overall Winner—Jeremy Bankston, “Hide ‘n Seek,” Theodore High School 


K-2ndGrade—Camille Chancey, “Colorful Kayaks,” Home School


3rd-5thGrade—Dylan LeGros, “Fishing with Dad,” Council Traditional School 


6th-8thGrade—Catherine Chung, “Dragon Boat Race,” Dunbar Magnet School 


9th-12thGrade—Lindsey Imsand “Adventure Under the Sea," Theodore High School 

 

The annual watercolor contest sponsored by the Mobile Area Water & Sewer System (MAWSS) encourages area students to tap into their artistic side to depict the role that water plays in their daily lives. The winners will be recognized at an awards ceremony on August 3 at The Shoppes at Bel Air. At that time, MAWSS officials will present all winners with gift cards.

Judges for this year's contest were Amberly Harris, Cumulus Broadcasting; Shelby Mitchell of 95 KSJ; Kelly Finley, FM Talk 106.5, Ardith Goodwin, local Mobile Artist, and Jennifer Caillavet, marketing coordinator for The Shoppes at Bel Air.
