Grease Blockage Causes Wastewater Overflow - 505 Bel Air Blvd

Mobile Area Water & Sewer System (MAWSS) responded to a wastewater overflow on July 17, 2025, at 505 Bel Air Blvd. Approximately 450 gallons of wastewater overflowed due to a grease blockage. 350 gallons of wastewater was reclaimed; 100 gallons of wastewater flowed into Eslava Creek. MAWSS crews have cleared the blockage and are taking steps to prevent further overflows at this location.

Grease blockages occur when foods containing fats, oil or grease are put down the drain. MAWSS provides free containers for grease recycling. To learn more visit www.itseasytobeungreasy.com.
