Mobile Area Water and Sewer System (MAWSS) has begun routine hydrant flushing in two key areas: the Demetropolis/Azalea Road corridor and Leroy Stevens Road at Cottage Hill Road. This vital maintenance activity will continue over the next several weeks to ensure the quality and safety of the area’s water supply.
Hydrant flushing is a standard procedure for cleaning the water mains and maintaining overall water quality. Customers may experience temporary water discoloration or a slight drop in water pressure during this process. These conditions are normal and should resolve quickly.
If discoloration occurs, MAWSS recommends running cold water through a faucet for several minutes until the water runs clear.
