Mobile Area Water & Sewer System (MAWSS) responded to a wastewater overflow on June 21, 2026 at 9240 Airport Blvd. Approximately 600 gallons of wastewater overflowed into Pierce Creek due to a grease blockage. MAWSS crews have cleared the blockage and are taking steps to prevent further overflows at this location.
This overflow was reported by a citizen.
Grease blockages occur when foods containing fats, oil or grease are put down the drain. MAWSS provides free containers for grease recycling. To learn more visit www.itseasytobeungreasy.com.
