Mobile Area Water & Sewer System (MAWSS) responded to a wastewater overflow on September 14, 2025, from a private cleanout at 2496 Sayner Ave. as a result of heavy grease blockage on the main line. Approximately 120 gallons overflowed; 20 gallons overflowed into Bolton Branch. MAWSS crews have unstopped the main line. Steps will be taken to prevent future overflows at this location.
Grease blockages occur when foods containing fats, oil or grease are put down the drain. MAWSS provides free containers for grease recycling. To learn more visit www.itseasytobeungreasy.com.
