Required Information

The following information is required to request new business service:

A copy of the business owner's identification
The company's Business License or Articles of Incorporation
The company's Tax Identification Number

Deposits and Service Charges

MAWSS requires a minimum deposit of $225 for all business service requests, as well as a service charge for each account. The deposit and service charges are due within 10 days of MAWSS receiving the service request.

The final deposit amount will be determined by MAWSS based on the type of business, meter size, and average usage. Please contact our Customer Service department for the deposit amount for your business. Deposits can be made with cash, an indemnity bond, or an irrevocable standby letter of credit.
The service charge is $60 for next business day service or later.

Service Policy

To prevent the possibility of flooding, MAWSS' insurance requires someone to be on the premises to sign a service ticket indicating it is safe to turn on water on private property. If no one is present, the meter will be installed and left in the "off" position, with instructions on how customers may turn the water on themselves at the meter. A $60 service charge will be charged if an additional trip is required by MAWSS to turn on the service.
